Forma has commissioned a striking installation in the heart of Bermondsey Square. The launch event took place on Saturday 8th February 2025 and welcomed locals and visitors of the area to experience the artwork together over hot wine.
The installation explores personal cultural heritage and popular culture. The exhibition is the first of a series of public interventions at Forma’s newly launched art space on Bermondsey Square.
The exhibition takes inspiration from Selena, the “Queen of Tejano Music”. Selena was a celebrated Mexican-American musician who was celebrated for her Latin music and contribution to mainstream American pop culture. She was tragically murdered, aged 23, and has since become an icon within the queer community.
